Our new album Tattered Youth is now available! Visit tatteredyouth.com to download it. You can pay what you want, you can pay what you think is fair. You can even download it for free if you want to. The most important thing is that you have this record!
We want you to be in our new video for the song Tattered Youth. Here
is what we need from you…
1. Look at the lyrics for Tattered Youth, and pick your favorite
line. (if you like more than one lyric, see #2)
2. Get a decent sized piece of cardboard, and write the lyric in big
letters, with a large blue or black permanent marker. (if you want to
choose more than one lyric, great. Just use more than one piece of
cardboard)
3. Go outside and have someone take a picture of you holding the
sign. Our preference is outside, in the daylight, with an interesting
background. Get creative! If you live near a cool landmark, or
something unique to your area, make sure you feature that. We have
fans from all over the world, and we’d love to see that captured. If you don’t have a cool landmark or anything, THAT IS OK TOO, we’d be happy to receive ANY photo from you.
4. In addition to whichever lyric you choose… we would also like,
EVERYONE to write the following lyric on a piece of cardboard as well;
“THERE’S A LOT LIKE ME OUT THERE”
Follow the same instructions as before, and take a picture of yourself
with this sign. Please make sure you use this lyric AS WELL as
another one from the song. Everyone should be taking a minimum of 2
pictures. One with your favorite line from the song, and one with
“There’s a lot like me out there.”
A couple of notes about the photos themselves….
If you have a nice camera, that’s great. Please use it. If you have
a standard point and shoot digital camera, that will also be great.
If you have a smart phone with a good quality camera, that’s also
fine. (iPhone, Android, etc). The only thing we won’t be able to
use, is low quality camera phone pics. We’ll need to enlarge these
photos, so it’s important that they are of a higher resolution. They
don’t need to be super high resolution professional pics, but they
also need to be good enough that we will be able to enlarge and edit
them as necessary.
Don’t worry about editing the pictures, or changing them to black and
white, or any other modifications to the original photo file. We’d
prefer to get them in their unaltered original state.
After you have picked the lyrics, made the signs, and taken the
pictures… please email us the photo.
(Look out, legal language ahead!)
By emailing us your photos, you grant Attention the unrestricted right
and permission to copyright and use, re-use, publish, and republish
photographic portraits or pictures of you or in which you may be
included intact or in part, composite or distorted in character or
form, without restriction, or reproduction hereof in color or
otherwise, made through any and all media now or hereafter known for
illustration, art, promotion, advertising, trade, or any other purpose
whatsoever.
Email all photos to TATTEREDYOUTH@GMAIL.COM
Thanks! We look forward to hearing from you! (and seeing you!)
TATTERED YOUTH Lyrics
(lyrics with a strike-through are no longer available)
I’ve been lost
I’ve been found
I’ve been traded
Like a dollar on the streetPassed aroundLoved and hatedNow I’m jaded, can’t you see?
There is a lot like me out there
Yeah, there’s a lot like me out thereWho never had a shot no matter what they didWho never had a chance just to be a kidSo we drink a lot and we sleep all dayTry to hide all of our problems awayWhen the sun comes up we’ll just throw it all away
I guess there’s no other way outSo just stay outGonna do this on my own
You’re gonna see how it plays outWhen I break out
When I find a new way homeFind a new way home
Moved out, got my own placeCalled my dad, he said; “Son are you okay?”
Yeah there’s a lot of things I wish I saidAll these emotions filling up my headThe thought of losing you just makes me sadSo many memories I wish we hadNow I work all day and I stay up lateTry to think of all the things I’d sayWhen the sun comes upLet’s just take it day by day
I guess there’s no other way outSo just stay out
Gonna do this on my ownI’m gonna see when it plays out
How I make out
When I find a new way homeGonna find a new wayOh, is there any other way to answer all my questions?
Do I have to leave you lyingAll alone like a dollar on the street
There’s a lot like me out there
I guess there’s no other way outSo just stay outGonna do this on my ownYou’re gonna see how it plays out
When I break outWhen I find a new way homeGonna find a new wayFind a new way home
